LAB 01The brief
Sell only what's on the shelf.
TV Bowling Supply is a pro shop in Columbus, Ohio. Its online store lists thousands of balls, bags, shoes and accessories that ship from their supplier's warehouse.
When stock changed at the supplier, the store had no way of knowing. Customers could buy things that were already gone, and the team fixed it by hand. They needed inventory that stayed accurate on its own.
LAB 02What we built
A.
Stock synced every minute
Every minute, the sync checks about 5,100 products against their supplier, Ace Mitchell, and updates the stock in their Shopify store. Only items that actually changed get written.
B.
A weight check on every ball
When a customer picks 12 lb or the lightest weight, the store asks them to double-check before they continue. It came from a real order: someone bought a 12 and wanted a 15.
C.
Bad listings flagged, not hidden
When the supplier stops recognising a product, the sync warns the team on Discord with the exact items and a deadline. If nobody fixes it, the item is set to -1 in Shopify so broken listings can't hide.
D.
Search and cart, front and centre
We redesigned the store header with a big search bar and cart button in TV Bowling Supply's navy, so shoppers can jump straight to the ball they're after.
