LAB 01The brief

A site the camp could run on its own.

Rouge Camps runs teacher-led sports, arts and robotics camps for kids 4 to 15 across York Region. Every season brings new weeks, new prices and new programs, and every change used to mean waiting on a developer.

They needed a site that kept their approved look, but that registration staff, directors and their media team could update themselves, safely.

LAB 02What we built

  1. A.

Weeks and prices they edit themselves

Camp weeks, rates and add-ons live in the CMS, so a new season is a few edits in the admin instead of a request to a developer.

Camp rates by program and week in the CMS
  2. B.

The right access for every role

Registration staff, camp directors and the media team each get their own role, so people only see and change what they're responsible for.

  3. C.

A blog that also hosts the podcast

Posts and podcast episodes live in one feed. Episodes play from YouTube, SoundCloud or audio files, with transcripts search engines can read.

  4. D.

Publish and watch it go live

Hitting publish rebuilds the site automatically, and the admin shows each update's status, so nobody has to guess whether a change is live.
